CAGED is an explosive outdoor dance spectacle inside, around and above a towering 3-metre birdcage.Four extraordinary performers push their bodies to the limit in a breathtaking journey from isolation to connection. Blending contemporary movement with cinematic imagery, athletic partnering and an electrifying soundtrack, CAGED transforms any outdoor space into an unforgettable theatrical experience.As performers climb, leap and collide with the imposing white cage, audiences are drawn into a world where safety and entrapment exist side by side. Visceral, emotionally charged and visually arresting, CAGED explores one of the defining issues of our time, the search for human connection in an increasingly disconnected world.
Created by Birmingham-based Linden Dance Company, CAGED combines powerful physical storytelling with world-class outdoor performance to create a show that resonates long after the final moment.

CAGED has been performed 48 times, reaching over 15,000 live audience members and more than 1,900 participants, including engagement with 25 schools nationally. It also toured into secondary schools across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, reaching more than 2,000 students and staff, and has been presented at festivals including Appetite, Refract Manchester, WOW Fest, Dancin’ Oxford, Midlands Arts Centre Summer Showcase and KCSS: King’s Cross Summer Sounds.

TOGETHERNESS
As part of CAGED, Linden Dance is delivering community activity to address and combat loneliness. This is part of the wrap around community activity used to gather the personal experiences that are presented within the work.
Togetherness was a creative intergenerational project in Wolverhampton that saw two schools (Stowlawn Primary School and Smestow Academy) be partnered with a care home each (East Park Care Home and Charnwood Care Home) over the course of 6 weeks. Through weekly sessions the students and residents came together to chat, share stories and to take part in creative movement.
