Embedding creative and cultural experiences for all children at Stowlawn Primary School.
MINDSET is Linden Dance Company’s long-term school and community dance programme, developed with Stowlawn Primary School in Bilston and partners across the Black Country. It brings professional dance, creative learning and young people’s voices into the heart of school life.
Building on a successful research pilot, MINDSET supports children to experience exceptional professional performance, explore Contemporary and Afro-fusion dance, collaborate with guest artists and make their own work. It also opens up opportunities for young people to develop confidence beyond performing: shaping creative activity, making decisions and learning how cultural events are planned and presented.
Working with Stowlawn Primary School, Black Country Touring, Black Country Dance Hub, Smestow Academy and other creative partners, the 2026–27 programme is exploring how schools can develop meaningful, lasting relationships with professional artists and local cultural organisations.
At its heart, MINDSET is about access, imagination and ownership — enabling young people not only to watch dance, but to help create the culture around them.
